Renault have stepped up their commitment to electric automation, with plans to invest over €1bn into four electric car plants in France.
As well as increasing production on their current crop of electric cars, Renault will also look to produce new models.
The plans listed out by Renault include doubling the size of their Zoe factory in Flins, and tripling electric motor production capacities at their Cleon plant, where they hope to introduce a new generation electric motor by 2021.
There’s also plans to introduce a new Alliance electric platform in Douai, where the company will create a second EV production site.
Renault Chairman and Chief Executive said, "The acceleration of our investments in France for electric vehicles will increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of our French industrial sites."
